What we are. MaciaLux is an advertising directory for independent massage therapists; we do not provide, perform, arrange or take payment for the treatments themselves.
Core model. MaciaLux is an advertising directory only. We list independent massage therapists so clients can find and contact them. We do not provide, perform, arrange, broker, supervise, or take payment for any massage or treatment. Any treatment is a matter solely between the client and the independent therapist. We never handle client to therapist payments.
1. About these terms
These Terms govern use of the MaciaLux website and services. By using the site or advertising on it you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. What we are (and are not)
2.1 MaciaLux is an advertising platform that lists independent massage therapists and venues. We are a directory, not a provider of massage services.
2.2 We are not a party to any arrangement, booking, or transaction between a client and a therapist. We do not employ therapists, do not control how they work, and are not their agent.
2.3 We do not verify, guarantee, or warrant any therapist's qualifications, insurance, conduct, or the quality or safety of any treatment, beyond any vetting steps we describe — and any such vetting does not make us responsible for the therapist or their services.
2.4 We do not handle, process, or hold payments between clients and therapists. Any fees for treatments are arranged and paid directly between client and therapist.
3. Users
3.1 Clients browse listings and contact therapists directly.
3.2 Therapists/advertisers pay to advertise (see clause 6).
3.3 You must be 18 or over to use the site.
4. Therapist/advertiser obligations
By advertising you confirm and agree that you:
4.1 are a genuine, independent massage therapist or venue, legally entitled to provide your services.
4.2 hold all required qualifications, registrations, insurance and licences, and will keep them current;
4.3 will provide accurate, truthful information and lawful, non-misleading content and images (see Acceptable Use Policy and Photo Policy);
4.4 will comply with all applicable laws, including consumer, advertising, tax and data-protection law;
4.5 are solely responsible for the services you provide, your conduct, your dealings with clients, and any disputes arising;
4.6 will not use the platform for anything unlawful, or for any sexual, adult or non-genuine-therapeutic service.
5. Our role and rights
5.1 We may review, approve, reject, edit, suspend or remove any listing, content or image at our discretion, including for breach of these Terms or our policies.
5.2 We may vet therapists before publishing a listing but are not obliged to, and vetting does not transfer responsibility for the therapist to us.
5.3 We may change, suspend or withdraw the site or features at any time.
6. Advertising fees & subscriptions
6.1 Advertising is provided on the paid tiers described on our site (e.g. Listed, Promoted, Amplified), billed monthly or annually.
6.2 Fees, billing cycle, and what each tier includes are as shown at sign-up. We may change fees on reasonable notice; changes do not affect the current paid period.
6.3 Payment is by the methods we offer (e.g. Direct Debit, card). You authorise recurring charges until cancelled.
6.4 Cancellation & refunds:
6.4.1 When you subscribe, you expressly request that we begin preparing and publishing your advertisement immediately, and you acknowledge that your statutory 14-day right to cancel will be lost once your advertisement goes live (i.e. once the service for that subscription period has been fully performed). You confirm this consent by checking the relevant box at checkout.
6.4.2 Before your advertisement goes live: you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of the fee for the current subscription period.
6.4.3 Once your advertisement is live: the service for that period is treated as fully performed and delivered, and no refund is due for that period, as the value (publication and promotion of your advertisement) has been provided in full.
6.4.4 You may cancel at any time to prevent your subscription renewing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; your advertisement remains live until then, and no partial refund is due for the unused part of that period.
6.4.5 On each renewal of a subscription, any statutory cancellation rights that apply to that renewal are unaffected by this clause.
6.4.6 Nothing in this clause removes any statutory right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the right to a remedy if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill.
6.5 Any performance figures, view counts, "targets" or ROI examples we show are illustrative and not guaranteed; we do not promise any level of views, leads, bookings or income.
7. Liability
7.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Save only for those liabilities, which cannot lawfully be limited, our entire liability to you is excluded or limited as set out in the rest of this clause 7, and you agree that the limits in this clause 7 are reasonable.
7.2 Subject to 7.1, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, conduct, services, qualifications, safety or quality of any therapist; for any treatment or its outcome; for any dealing, dispute, loss, injury or damage arising between a client and a therapist; or for any reliance on listing content.
7.3 Subject to 7.1, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.
7.4 Subject to 7.1, our total liability to an advertiser is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
7.5 The site is provided "as is"; we do not warrant it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Indemnity
Advertisers indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from their listings, content, services, conduct, or breach of these Terms.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 The site, branding and our content are owned by MaciaLux or our licensors.
9.2 By submitting content/images you grant us a licence to host, display, adapt (e.g. resize/optimise) and use it to provide and promote the listing and platform. You confirm you own or have rights to all content you submit.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach. You may stop advertising per clause 6.4.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts.

We may update these Terms; the current version is always on the site, with the "last updated" date above.
